About the Project
This Val de Vie garden was a full installation — lawns, beds, a pond and a circulating stream that feels completely at home against the mountains. CSA Landscaping designed the water system so it moves quietly through the garden, starting at a custom granite block we designed and supplied, then flowing into the dam.
The planting is layered and practical: olive trees and light-canopy feature trees for structure; agapanthus and Dietes for a strong green edge; silver Helichrysum along the stream; and fine ornamental grasses around the boardwalks. The result is a garden that looks polished from the house and still feels natural when you walk the timber bridges and lawn.
We created a complete estate garden featuring:
- A circulating pond and natural stream edged in river stone
- A custom granite water feature, designed and supplied by CSA, feeding water into the dam
- Open lawns that connect the house, patio and mountain views
- Layered beds of agapanthus, Dietes, silver Helichrysum and ornamental grasses
- Olive trees (Olea europaea) and light-canopy feature trees for height and shade
- Timber boardwalks and small bridges that cross the stream without breaking the flow of the garden
The Result: The finished garden feels calm, generous and thoroughly Val de Vie. Water moves from the granite feature through the stream and into the pond, the lawns stay open and usable, and the planting softens the architecture all the way to the mountain backdrop.
This project is another clear example of the precision and care CSA Landscaping brings to every site in the Boland and Cape Winelands — creating outdoor spaces that look beautiful from day one and continue to mature with grace.
